Those of you, who know me personally, must have the knowledge that alongside my medicine degree, I have a degree of Bachelors of Arts (B.A) too. Here, I would like to mention that during course of my study for this degree, I happened to learn the simplest and most comprehensive definition of democracy. Yes, I came to know that Democracy is all about government of the people, by the people and for the people.
When it comes to democracy, no one can deny the importance of elections. Election is the time when this process of making of democracy gets started. Voting someone to office is the first step towards the government of the people hence, towards democracy. It is very important to deicide that what is right and what is not at least during elections. I would say; when you support someone, it is all about your principles and beliefs and it turns very important that you should promote your ideals, your principles!
In elections, the candidates specifically and parties generally are the representatives of your ideals. Take example of American Presidential Elections 2008, they are around and two major political parties, Democrats and Republicans are there, representing two different schools of thoughts. Now, when you believe in one or the other among them, you need to stand up for it, you should believe in your candidate and try to send this message across. It is very important to promote your vote using best possible methods available since it can leave a good deal of impression on others too.
